BlueCard Jobs

About BlueCard Jobs

Built by someone who went through the process — not a recruiter, not a VC-backed startup.

Who built this

I'm Shubham — an engineering manager who moved from India to Germany on an EU Blue Card. I've spent 12+ years navigating the German IT market: visa applications, salary negotiations, job interviews in a second language, and the bureaucracy that comes with every step.

I built BlueCard Hacks as a guide for others going through the same process. BlueCard Jobs is the data layer — a job board that surfaces only the roles that actually qualify, so you're not wasting time applying to jobs that won't get you a visa.

How the data works

180+ companies tracked

We pull directly from ATS APIs (Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Personio) and the German Federal Employment Agency. No LinkedIn, no aggregator scraping.

Updated every morning

The pipeline runs daily at 6am UTC. Jobs posted the day before are live by the time you check in the morning.

Blue Card eligibility check

Every job is checked against the 2026 threshold (€50,700/year standard, €45,934 for IT shortage occupations). Confirmed = salary disclosed and above threshold. Likely = IT role, no salary listed.

Dead job detection

We ping each listing daily. Jobs that 404 or redirect to a careers homepage are marked inactive within 24 hours — you won't see expired listings.

What we don't do

  • ×We don't take money from employers to promote listings. Every job appears on merit.
  • ×We don't track you. No accounts, no cookies beyond what Next.js needs.
  • ×We don't show jobs that don't meet Blue Card salary thresholds — those are labelled 'unlikely' and filtered out by default.
  • ×We don't pretend to be a recruiter. We're a data tool.

Data sources & methodology

Primary sources: German Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) API, Greenhouse Jobs API, Lever Jobs API, Workable API, SmartRecruiters API, Personio XML feeds.

Blue Card thresholds: Based on the official 2026 EU Blue Card Germany minimums. IT and engineering roles use the shortage occupation threshold (€45,934). All other roles use the standard threshold (€50,700). Thresholds are updated annually in January.

Salary data: Extracted from job descriptions using pattern matching. We do not fabricate or estimate salaries — if a salary isn't disclosed in the posting, we mark it as undisclosed. The Blue Card badge will show "likely" rather than "confirmed" for these jobs.

English detection: We verify whether each job posting is in English using language detection on the actual job description content, not just the title.
